Haslemere makes a perfect country town location. Within walking distance of your accommodation are a range of shops and restaurants, tennis courts and an indoor public swimming pool and sports centre.
There is a a main line railway station with regular fast trains to London (55 minutes) only 10 minutes walk away. Nearby Midhurst offers Polo and Golf at Cowdray Park. In Petworth there is Petworth Park and Petworth House, with a superb collection of Turner paintings.
Goodwood Motor & Horse Racing, Chichester Town, Cathedral & Festival Theatre are only 30 minutes drive. The south coast with swimming and sailing is only 45 minutes drive. For a great day out drive to Portsmouth (40 minutes) and take one of the regular ferries to the Isle of White.
